Ballerina Bride “Rock the Dress” Photo Shoot
Rock your Dress? Yes why not! What is it? A photo shoot designed around YOU that incorporates your wedding dress into the mix. Our bride Kathryn studied dance at college so we designed the shoot around ballet. Her beautiful dress and long veil brought everything together. For your own Rock the Dress shoot bring elements like your veil, flowers, and jewelry. Props are amazing at giving you a focus and can give life to your shoot. The photo shoot will come naturally because its all about you and what you love plus it gives you another excuse to wear that $1000 dress!! Special thanks to my photographer Matt Gahs for taking these amazing photos and Angelberry Organics for the gorgeous makeup. If you have further questions on a Rock the Dress shoot please message me! I have numerous photographers that would love to help design your shoot and we can be there to beautify you!
Rock the Dress photo shoots are always fun; it gives the bride, photographer and makeup artist complete artistic creativity to help enhance the fairytale aspect of the wedding. It’s a time to be silly, sexy, and do photos you can’t capture on your wedding day. This shoot with Kathryn and Natasha was a blast. All three of us contributed our talents to this photo shoot; lighting, dance, and makeup to showcase this beautiful shoot. Enjoy!– Matt Gahs
Wondering how to achieve this look? Here is the how to and what we used!
Start with your brows. Fill them in with a brown powder to accentuate them but not make them darker. I used an eye primer from Smashbox over the lid and under the brow. Press a light gold eye shadow all over the lid and into the crease. Using a soft blending brush blend a soft taupe/brown eye shadow from the edge of the eye into the crease. Finish with the Laura Mercier eye liner technique to bring out the lashes and using a gel eye liner sweep along the lid and out to the edge. For skin I used Angelberry Organics Creame foundation and set with mineral powder. Add a pink cool undertone blush to the cheeks and sweep bronzer under the cheek bones. Finish with light pink lip gloss which works for all seasons!
