Sara + Luis: Maria’s Love Point Bed and Breakfast 2012 Wedding

Our February Bride of the Month!

Wow…when I got an email from Sara a few months back with a Thursday Wedding Date I was very confused. I thought to myself, where could she be getting married that has a Thursday date available? Maria’s Love Point Bed and Breakfast was that place and what a diamond it is on Kent Island, MD. The funny part about this venue is that they do no advertising and the only way to really find out about the place is word of mouth! Pretty traditional but I think it makes for an amazing place for a small wedding that most likely no one has ever married at. The morning of was pretty deary weather wise and being by the water made it look worse then it was. With the gloom of rain in our mind we got to work right away making Sara and her mother beautiful so she could get photos outside.

Sara’s makeup was designed to brighten her eyes and face. The main reason was because of the time of year. As did happen, the weather cast a cool gray hue on everything and the light from the sun was evenly lit on everything. This can make your makeup look very washed out in photos. It is very important to define the eyes, cheeks, and lips so they don’t disappear in the photos.

Her eyes we kept very simple by using one of my favorite MAC eye shadows called Vex. It has a pearl finish to it that bounces light amazing and makes the lid of your eye look bigger. We also included MAC Shroom under the brow and MAC Haux in the crease. Finished off with Laura Mercier Black Tight Line eye liner under the lash line and a pair of lashes. Her skin was dry from the season so we blended together a cream foundation from Laura Mercier and set it with a light illuminating powder. Her blush was a mixture of soft rose and a kiss of bronzer under her cheek bones and temples. We did have a concern with the color of her lips. She wanted them to look like her own natural color but a little more defined. I decided to line her lips with Clover lip pencil from Laura Mercier and finished with Angelberry #70  lipstick and Love Nectar Gloss from MAC. Pretty!
